WANTED: Intelligent, Organized, Marketing Coordinator Who Desires to be a Part of a Growing Marketing Company
Our company is called Front Street Brokers and before you read further, it is important that you understand who we are and what we believe. This is not a typical want ad, because we are not seeking a typical employee or contract worker. We are looking for someone who wants something much more out of life, someone who wants to make an impact and be a part of something much bigger. This is important, because if you don’t share our vision to make a difference, then you’d be a poor fit, and that would be a waste of both my time and yours.
As the saying goes, “Hire slow, fire fast.” Truth be told, I don’t want to fire at all, or ever. I’m looking for someone who will become an integral part of my organization as we continue to expand. I want to get it right the first time, even if that means turning away 99% of the people who read this ad. I’m writing to the 1%ers… Not in wealth, but in ambition and work ethic.
The ability to organize your day, and to work effectively and efficiently, is critical. In short we are looking for a taskmaster. If you are very organized and have the ability to systemize assigned tasks, you will earn more money and work fewer hours with this position. If someone has an “I’ll just see how it goes” mentality about scheduling their day, then that person should not apply. You will be trained well in every job function assigned to you, but once you are fully trained it will be up to you to get that work done predictability on time.
Here are some of the things you will be doing in our company: social media marketing, email marketing, blogging, uploading Youtube videos, managing tasks relevant to client needs, tracking and reporting on completed work. Many of the tasks will be repetitive, and therefore, if you get faster at completing the tasks then you will increase your hourly income potential.
Here are some skill requirements that an ideal candidate will have:
Strong communication skills
Strong familiarity with Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Docs, Youtube
Wordpress (Blog Posting)
Understanding of SEO best practices
Strong organization skills and attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines without having to be micro managed
Ability to manage many small tasks efficiently and quickly
Above average Microsoft Office skills
We are not concerned about a college degree. Your work ethic will speak for itself. Your willingness to learn will speak for itself. Your passion for being the best you can be will speak for itself. A piece of paper—a college degree—does not “qualify” or “disqualify” you. Only YOU qualify or disqualify you, based on your character traits.
We’ve come across a lot of reckless and ill-informed people who have 10 years of experience. So no, just like a college education, “experience” does not qualify you or disqualify you. But here’s what we are looking for:
Someone who can take on a task, set a deadline, stay organized, and complete that task on time with 100% accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness. If you tell me it will be done by Tuesday at 5pm, then it needs to be done by Tuesday at 5pm. (If something unexpected comes up, we get it, it happens.) But that kind of “delay” should be the exception, not the rule. Because of the nature of our responsibilities with our clients we are under the constant pressure of meeting deadlines, so any delay derails the entire train. We need to be able to count on you. And I want you to be able to count on us. If you say you need something, we are team and we will get it for you.
Full Time / Part Time?
In this position you have the opportunity to make a full time income while only working part time. The more organized and skilled at preforming scheduled tasks you become the fewer hours you will need to work.
Regular Working Hours?
No, except that you will be expected to work some scheduled hours during the week for training and meetings. For the most part you will be able to set your own hours, and have the opportunity to work lot from home. Again, we are deadline orientated. We don’t care as much about how you get it done, or from where you get it done. We just need to know it’s going to be done and it’s going to be done right. 2—Do I have a curiosity to learn/master new things?
3 — Do I take direction well?
4—Am I willing to accept the responsibility as the CEO of my own position?
5—Do I work effectively and efficiently?
6—Can I meet deadlines?
7—Can I manage and coordinate multiple projects?
8—As a person, am I super-organized? (In other words, is my house clean? Is my car clean? Is my bathroom clean? Do I use a calendar or some other kind of deliberate organizer to schedule my day, all of my activities, meetings and deadlines?)
9—How high do I rate my social media and computer skills?
10—How high would other people rate me?
11—Am I resilient? (A common trait for a resilient person is that nothing is ever too hard or too challenging. Somehow, these people always rise to the occasion and find a way.)
Opportunities for Advancement:
Depending on your skill set and/or your willingness to master certain skills, there is no limit for income potential or advancement. There are no ladders here. Only results. Same goes with your compensation. In our business we only get paid when we provide results for our clients. This creates opportunities and challenges. Because of the commission based nature of our business we have unlimited income potential but we also have a level of unpredictability with how much and when we get paid. Jobs that have unlimited income potential are typically sales or entrepreneurial related. The more one sells the more money they make.
For this position, you will not be selling anything; rather you will be supporting sales professionals who are servicing clients. We have a lot of pride in the quality of service we provide to our clients. Our goal is to do our job so well that we make a lasting positive impact in the lives of our clients and our community. Your job will be to assist and coordinate important tasks that need to be completed in order to deliver an amazing service to our clients. In return, you will earn a portion of our commissions.
Your income will be more predictable than ours because you will be assisting all of us, which means you will get paid when any of us earn a commission, but again, since our income is based on results, it will take some time for your income stream to grow. Therefore you should budget and plan on the first two months of taking this position like a paid internship. If you must have a steady and predictable paycheck every two weeks then this isn’t the right position for you at this time.
One more thing: We will only hire a person who will treat our business as their own. Take great pride in their work. Bend over backwards to hit deadlines. Serve our clients as we do. And are eternal optimists. So you’ll need to be motivated, driven and positive.
